Danny Farah is a pianist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and currently based in New York City. He has performed at many concert halls, churches, and restaurants and has provided music for weddings, parties, and school events. He gave his first full-length solo recital in 2023 at Temple University’s Rock Hall Auditorium. That same year, he was selected to participate in a masterclass with legendary pianist Jonathan Biss.
Danny has won several awards. In 2019, he performed solo at Carnegie Hall after placing first in the Crescendo International Music Competition. In 2023, he was the recipient of the Olga Gagliardi Getto Award and Louis and Peter Vennett Scholarship Fund. In 2024, he was a semifinalist in the St. Cecilia International Vocal and Instrumental Music Competition.
As a collaborative pianist, Danny has accompanied a wide range of solo instrumentalists such as renowned flutist and Juilliard professor Carol Wincenc. He has also worked with many singers, choirs, chamber ensembles and large instrumental ensembles. In 2023, he performed at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia and the Lincoln Center in New York City with the Temple University Symphony Orchestra as well as the ACDA National Conference in Cincinnati with the Temple University Wind Symphony and Choirs. He also enjoys musical theater, and he has accompanied several cabarets and participated in pit orchestras for a number of musicals.
In addition to classical music, Danny also plays jazz, pop, and rock. He has performed at Chris’ Jazz Café in Philadelphia five times and participated in numerous jazz festivals throughout southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Danny began his piano studies at the age of nine. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance where he studied with Dr. Charles Abramovic. He is currently working towards his Master of Music in Collaborative Piano at the Mannes School of Music and studying with Dr. Audrey Axinn. Danny is an alumnus of the Round Top Music Festival (2024) where he studied with Eteri Anjaparidze, Viktor Valkov, and James Dick.
